Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden) nominated Arconti for these roles.

“I am honored to have been appointed to serve in this new leadership role," Arconti said. “I thank the Speaker of the House for his confidence in allowing me to move forward and to serve on these committees that are important to me.”

Arconti said he is ready to take on his new roles and lead the committees in the right direction.

“As a leader within our caucus, Rep. Arconti has the experience and ability to help improve the quality of life for everyone in Connecticut, while at the same time representing the interests of the families in Danbury," Sharkey said. “David will play a key role in moving our legislative agenda forward this session.”

In addition to serving as vice chair of the Environment Committee, Arconti was appointed to serve on the General Law, Housing and Public Safety, and Security Committees.

Arconti will be sworn in for his second term Wednesday, as the General Assembly convenes for the 2015 regular session.

“I am excited and ready to work with my colleagues to continue finding ways to make Connecticut a better state for all our residents,” he said.
