Rep. Tom O'Dea and Sen. Toni Boucher - both ranking members of the Transportation Committee - submitted a letter to DMV Commissioner Andres Ayala, Jr. in October intended to address issues highlighted by the public, and allow the agency to address members of the legislature about the ways in which the General Assembly can assist the DMV.

Common questions posed in the letter inquire about wait times, computer upgrades, online systems, staff training, AAA collaboration, IT services, and telephone services.

“I have received countless inquiries from constituents regarding service issues at our local DMV offices,” said Harding, a Republican.

“No one should have to plan to spend hours of their day at the DMV to make routine transactions like renewing a license," Harding said. "I hope the commissioner responds to my colleagues in a timely manner so that we may aid the public in avoiding the typical anxieties associated with dealing with the DMV. I look forward to addressing this issue further on behalf of my constituents.”
