Danbury's Mayor Mark Boughton Announces Re-Election On Twitter

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury re-elected Mark Boughton to his seventh term as mayor on Tuesday. And he let his constituents know in a familiar way: via Twitter.

"Thank you Danbury for a resounding victory 70.5%. #oneluv," Boughton announced via ‏Twitter @MayorMark at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Boughton, a Republican, was elected to his seventh term as mayor in Danbury. 

Challenger Paul McAllister had conceded defeat earlier in the evening at Democratic headquarters.

Also, Boughton may not finish his term. He announced his intention in August to form an exploratory committee to seek the Republican nomination to run for governor in Connecticut in 2014. Read the story here on The Daily Voice.
