Cameron, who served on the Metro-North Commuter Council for 19 years, including four as chairman, selected his candidates based on their advocacy for supporting mass transit issues.

For governor, Cameron threw his support behind Democratic incumbent Dannel Malloy based on his plans to continue improvements on both the rails and the roads.

For the vacant seat in the 28th Senate District, representing Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston and Westport, Cameron endorsed Republican Tony Hwang due to his track record of supporting funding for Metro-North while serving in the General Assembly.

In the 26th Senate District, representing Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston and Westport, Cameron continued to support incumbent Toni Boucher because of her efforts to protect the transportation fund from being raided by previous governors.

State Rep. Jonathan Steinberg (D- Westport) was also praised by Cameron for his longstanding advocacy for commuters, including his fight to have the contract between the state and Metro-North re-evaluated.

Finally, Cameron voiced his support for incumbent Republican Gail Lavielle (Norwalk, Westport, Wilton) in the state assembly for her long track record of fighting for commuter's rights and mass-transit safety.
