Esty is an outspoken advocate for clean energy and energy efficiency. She cosponsored the Green Bank Act of 2014, a bill that would help finance clean energy and energy efficiency projects.

“Throughout Congresswoman Esty’s career in public service she’s fought to safeguard our nation’s open spaces and the water resources we depend upon,” said Gene Karpinski, president of the LCV Action Fund. “She knows we have a moral obligation to act on climate change and we commend her for supporting efforts to reduce dangerous carbon pollution from power plants.”“I am honored to receive the endorsement of League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” Esty said. “Our country has an incredible opportunity to be a world leader in promoting policies that protect our environment and move us towards a clean energy future. Ever since I celebrated the very first Earth Day as a child by pulling tires out of the San Francisco Bay, I’ve been dedicated to protecting our environment.”Esty’s voting record earned her a 96 percent score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard in 2013, her first year in Congress.
