Malloy Vs. Foley Debate At UConn Called 'Slugfest'

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- In an event characterized as a "slugfest on character and integrity," Gov. Dannel Malloy and challenger Tom Foley met in a contentious debate Thursday at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, according to the CT Mirror.

The Democratic incumbent and the Republican challenger hit on a variety of issues, including gun control, but also faced off on Foley's two arrests and an investigation in Malloy while he was Stamford mayor, CT Mirror reported. 

Malloy pointed out that he was cleared of the accusations, while Foley said he was never prosecuted in the cases.
