DANBURY, Conn. -- By winning Tuesday's primary in Danbury, Margaret "Marge" Gallo is assured of returning to her post as the Democratic Registrar of Voters in the city.

According to the Hat City blog , which posted the official totals in Danbury, Gallo won by more than a hundred votes, 669-563.

Gallo was the incumbent, but she lost the endorsement of the Danbury Democratic Town Committee to Susan Ward, the town party's vice chairman.

Gallo had come under fire over a failed proposal to relocate the polling places for Danbury's Third Ward and Sixth Ward. She withdrew her support of the plan after Democrats said the move would make it more difficult for some voters to cast ballots because of the more remote locations.

She faces no challenge in the November election.
