Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Launches Danbury’s Office Of Early Childhood

DANBURY, Conn, -- A ribbon-cutting on Dec. 9 celebrated the official opening of the City of Danbury’s Office of Early Childhood.

The event took place at Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership at 77 West St. with Mayor Mark Boughton in attendance.

At the October City Council meeting, Boughton announced the creation of the Office of Early Childhood and designated the Promise for Children Partnership as its administrator.

Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership is a community-based group dedicated to preparing Danbury’s young children for school.

It is spearheaded by the City of Danbury, Danbury Public Schools, the Danbury School Readiness Council, United Way of Western Connecticut, Danbury Children First, Education Connection and other community organizations. Its mission: that All Danbury Children Age Birth Through 8 Are Healthy and Ready for School and Lifelong Learning.
