Seniors Group Endorses Elizabeth Esty for Congress

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Members from The Alliance for Retired Americans endorsed U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty for re-election to U.S. Congress from Connecticut’s 5th District during a celebration of Social Security’s 79th anniversary in New Britain.

The Alliance for Retired Americans has endorsed U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty for re-election.

“Elizabeth Esty is really a champion for seniors,” Richard Fiesta, executive director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, said in a press release. “She can be trusted to lead with our interests. Her views on keeping health care affordable and retirement secure are among the reasons that we stand behind Elizabeth Esty and her candidacy for U.S. Congress.”

Alliance members also said they recognized Esty for her commitment to fighting the privatization of Medicare and Social Security.

The group also released a new report on Social Security for seniors in Connecticut.
