McLachlan represents Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman.

The club is advised by Danbury High teacher Allison Soto and meets weekly to discuss current events and political topics.

The students toured the State Capitol complex and asked McLachlan questions about his role as their senator in Hartford.
