For his campaign rally, Trump spoke Friday to a crowd estimated at 5,500 people at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. He told CT Mirror that he plans to return to Connecticut twice before the April 26 presidential primary to continue campaigning.
In the one-on-one interview with Courant, Trump said he knows the Nutmeg State well and referenced his time living in Greenwich.
"It's so devastating to lose a company like General Electric," he said.
General Electric announced in January that it would move its headquarters from Fairfield to Boston in an effort to find a more tech savvy workforce.
"I think losing General Electric is a disaster for Connecticut. We're not talking about a 15-person shop. We're talking about … one of the large companies of the world and a great company," Trump said. "Losing them to Massachusetts was tough, but at least they're in the United States."
