A man was left with serious injuries following a hit-and-run crash in Chester County over the weekend, authorities said.

A man was riding his motorcycle in the 900 Block of Newark Road in Toughkenamon on Sept. 26 around 3:15 p.m. when a truck struck him and fled the scene without stopping, according to the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department.

Officers noticed the man suffering from a severe leg injury, police said. Zachary, 27, was taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware for treatment.

The crash resulted in a broken tibia that will require at least four surgeries, according to Zachary's fiance Julie Marin.

"He will be unable to work for at least six months, with a one-year total recovery," she said.

Investigators believe the truck is an older model red Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck, with a deployed front passenger side/curtain airbag.

It was last seen heading southbound on Newark Road.

Anyone with information on the crash or pickup truck is urged to contact the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department by calling the non-emergency number at 610-268-3171, the anonymous tip line at 610-268-2907 ext. 222 or submit a tip on the department's CrimeWatch page.
