Tony Award-winning actress Cady Huffman will conduct a Musical Theatre Audition Master Class from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, in the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Ext. in Danbury.

A master class is given to students by an expert of the discipline they are studying, usually in the arts. The public is invited to observe the master class at no cost.

Huffman will provide tips for some of the university’s music and musical theatre majors who hope to pursue careers in the industry. She received a Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for her role as ‘Ulla’ in “The Producers” and later revived the character for a season of HBO’s comedy “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

She also received a Tony nomination for “The Will Rogers Follies” and the Outer Critics’ Circle Award for “The Nance.” Other stage credits include “Steel Pier,” “Dame Edna,” “Big Deal” and “La Cage aux Folles.” She is a regular food judge on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America.”
