DANBURY, Conn. – Part of the $40 million construction proposal at Danbury High School will focus on separating freshman from the rest of the student body due to research that highlights the significance of freshman transition, News Times reports.

The 110,000-square-foot academy would feature 24 classrooms exclusively for freshman, according to the report. 

The program, which has been in development for five years, is part of a five-year construction initiative unveiled by Mayor Mark Boughton during his State of the City address earlier this month.
