DSABC is a school based mentoring program that fosters cooperation among businesses, the community and the Danbury Public Schools. There are currently 230 students in the program that draws mentors from the 25 business in the collaboration as well as the community at large.

“The Mission of DSABC is to help Danbury Public School students achieve personal and academic success through school based mentoring,” said Mary Gregory, director of the Danbury Schools and Business Collaborative.

“While our program has produced countless stories of success over the past 25 years, we are continually seeking new volunteers as well as business partnerships in the greater Danbury area. National Mentoring Month is an ideal opportunity to let business leaders know that they can help strengthen our community through mentoring.”

In conjunction with National Mentoring Month, DSABC is beginning observance of the organization’s 25th anniversary. Various events, workshops and recruitment initiatives will be planned throughout the year, culminating in the Annual Awards and Scholarship Breakfast in May. DSABC invites mentors and students who have participated in the program to share their stories.
