DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury Schools and Business Collaborative is currently celebrating the 15th annual National Mentoring Month.
“The Mission of DSABC is to help Danbury Public School students achieve personal and academic success through school based mentoring,” said Mary Gregory, director of Danbury Schools and Business Collaborative.
DSABC aims to connect more students in Danbury with more positive adult role models through school-based mentoring programs that promote cooperation with local businesses and the community.
The program currently features 320 participating students and mentors from 25 businesses as well as the community.
“DSABC’s One-on-One Mentor program has produced countless stories of success over the past 26 years, and now that we are expanding our programming to include Workplace Learning E-Mentoring, we are continually seeking new volunteers as well as business partnerships in the greater Danbury area," said Gregory. "National Mentoring Month is an ideal opportunity to let business leaders know that they can help strengthen our community through mentoring.”
ABout 100 students are on the waiting list for a DSABC mentor.
