The video includes student composed music as well as interviews with students who have benefited from Conncap/Upward Bound. One student, identified as Jenny Y., explains how she found her voice in high school with the help of the program and how it helped her with the college application process. Jenny plans to attend the Nursing School at the University of Connecticut in the fall.
"All the teachers help you with everything from your college essay to maybe a math problem you might be struggling with," she said. "They'll always put time aside to help you."
In his written introduction, Alam says, "Conncap/Upward Bound is a great program that's helped so many Danbury High Schools students. Yet, not many schools have this program and we're facing threats of program funding to be cancelled. More high schools should have this program to further benefit their students. Please vote for our video and help promote the value of having Conncap/Upward bound in Connecticut Schools."

The challenge of the contest was to make a video explaining: "How would you change education so you can learn more and better?"
The contest is sponsored by the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, the Connecticut Association of Schools and the Nellie Mae Education Foundation.
