The kindergarten through fifth-grade school of global studies is on Danbury’s Westside, adjacent to the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University.
The Academy of International Studies operates under the state guidelines as a “public school of choice” and is governed by the Danbury Board of Education.
Student selection to the school is made through an application and a lottery.
The open house is for parents interested in applying for their students entering kindergarten through fifth grade for the 2017-18 school year.
Tours will be offered from 6:30-7 p.m., followed by an information session from 7-8 p.m.
Attendees must register for the open house by calling 203-778-7462, as space is limited.
Applications for admission and additional information are available online at the Danbury Public Schools website.
Applications for the school will be accepted beginning Jan. 1.
Students who applied last year and were placed on a waiting list must reapply.
Applicants for kindergarten must be eligible for kindergarten in the 2017-18 school year.
