Pascarella was elected by the CAPSS membership after he was nominated by the Executive Committee and his nomination was approved by the Board of Directors.
Pascarella has served as the Superintendent in Danbury since 2006. Before his service in Danbury, he was Superintendent of Old Saybrook.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to represent the superintendents in Connecticut during these challenging times of student assessment, teacher and administrator accountability and resource distribution,” Pascarella said in a statement.
Pascarella earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lea College and his Masters in Education and Doctor of Education degrees from Loyola University.
He will serve as president of the organization until June 30, 2016.
