The event will be Saturday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St.

For prospective Honors Program students, there will be a brunch held in Warner Hall at 9 a.m. Program Director Chris Kukk will address students on what the Honors Program entails.

Of the nearly 380 students who came to last year's event to see whether WestConn was the right place for them, more than 80 percent ultimately enrolled. Since financial aid packages have not been awarded yet, many students still have not committed to any school, said WCSU Director of Admissions Jay Murray.

“Our goal is to get as many students as possible to join us at the event and learn as much as they can about what we offer,” said Murray.

Senior administrators, including the university president and provost, as well as deans and faculty representatives of every university department will be at the event.

After a welcome address, students are invited to listen to faculty presentations in their major of interest. The afternoon will consist of student-to-student panels, where prospective students may question current students about campus life, and a “successful first-year panel” for parents to ask about housing, counseling, career services, security and meal plans. The day will conclude with campus tours.

Students accepted to the School of Visual and Performing Arts will be invited to drive to the Westside campus for a tour of the new Visual and Performing Arts Center and other campus facilities.
