The Wooster School Open House is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at the school at 91 Miry Brook Road in Danbury, according to a press release. The school is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school, serving students from throughout the area, according to the release.

"I often talk to parents in Fairfield and Westchester counties about the experiences that their children are having in school and hear the word 'fine,'" said Head of School Matt Byrnes in the release. "The program is fine. The kids are fine. It’s OK. It’s good. It’s almost as if the standard for success is simply not having a bad experience in school."

Byrnes noted that "fine isn't good enough for us," in the release.

"We are committed to making learning experiences personal, meaningful, and visible for our students every day," Byrnes said in the release. "Our classes are small so that our teachers can personalize learning and inquiry for individual students. We design experiences that make thinking visible, so we know when learning his happening. We challenge our students academically, but also want them to be happy, engaged, and eager to be here. And if the experience for a student isn’t “great” we are not satisfied.

"When the parents of Wooster students talk about their experience they use words like happy, excited, and meaningful. That’s better than fine."
