Ex-Gov. Rell, Sen. Murphy To Speak At Graduations At Danbury's WestConn

DANBURY, Conn. -- The May commencement ceremonies at Danbury's Western Connecticut State University will feature remarks by U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, a Democrat, and former Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell, a Republican.

The graduate commencement address, given by Murphy, will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the Feldman Arena of the William A. O’Neill Athletic and Convocation Center on the university’s Westside campus located at 43 Lake Ave. Ext.

Rell, who served as Connecticut’s governor from 2004 to 2011, will deliver the undergraduate commencement address at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 10, at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard, 600 Main St., Bridgeport.

The public is invited to both events.
