State Reps. Stephen Harding (R-107) and Jan Giegler (R-138) attended to congratulate NVCC President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Connecticut State Colleges and Universities President Mark Ojakian, NVCC Student Government Association President Kelia Franco and Mayor Mark Boughton of Danbury on the expansion.

“Many of the 1250 students that attend NVCC are from the 107th district, so this new campus will be much more convenient for those who would otherwise have to commute to Waterbury,” said Rep. Harding. “I have also been informed that NVCC admissions are working to create a more seamless, accessible application process for prospective students. This is a great opportunity for all students throughout our local communities.”

“I am pleased to see this investment in Danbury come to fruition and I am confident NVCC will be a great community partner in our community for years to come,” Rep. Giegler said. “Any time we can help to expand access to education is good for the students, professors and faculty and the people of the community being served.”

The new Danbury campus is located at 190 Main Street, across from the city library.
