Parents can also get information on playgroups and other resources in the District at the location open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It has several departments, including the Central School Registration, where all Danbury students register for school.

Central Registration is open all summer and there is a nurse available twice a week to review immunization and physical records.

This department also houses the ESL Center.

There are three staff members in Central Registration during the week and families can meet with someone who speaks English, Spanish or Portuguese.

Help is available to fill out paperwork, and to direct parents to medical if children need physicals.

Students whose first language is not English are also tested at the center for placement purposes.

To register for school, parents and guardians can go to the DPS website to download the application, which also includes information on what documents to bring with them.

The FACE Center also includes the Danbury Family Learning Center (DFLC) whose mission is to improve educational experiences and knowledge of children birth through grade two and their parents, and to foster and encourage excellence and creativity in educational activities in the Danbury Public Schools and throughout greater Danbury, said a release.

An Extended Learning Program offers before- and after-school programs at the elementary and middle schools. Parents can register their children at the FACE Center for these services.

The school meals program is also housed in the Center: School breakfast and lunch are an important part of the students’ day.

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications are available from this office or from your child’s school. Parents are required to fill out a new application each year before Oct. 1 to continue to be enrolled in the program.
