  • Anna Krzyzewski, of Pawling, N.Y., was named senior prefect.

Wooster’s self-help philosophy gives students complete responsibility for the physical condition of the school.

Every senior handles a job area, managing the younger students as they clean and maintain their assigned part of the campus.

“Self-help is a fundamental attitude members of the Wooster community take towards their community,” Hannah Reed, a 2006 Wooster alumna and current dean of upper school, said in a press release.

“It is an attitude of caring about, and caring for other members of the community.”

“It is an attitude of caring about Wooster.”

All Wooster seniors are given various duties, but the six prefects have the most leadership responsibilities on campus.

“Throughout your life you will be judged on the quality of your work,” said Head of School Matt Byrnes in a press release.

“End results certainly matter – does the thing that you built work, is the floor clean, is the goal met – people certainly care about these things.

“The most important aspect of work, though, the thing that tells the rest of the world the most about you, is not what you accomplished, but how you accomplished it.”
