Students From Danbury Earn Graduate Degrees At WestConn

DANBURY, Conn. -- Western Connecticut State University conferred graduate or doctoral degrees upon the following students at its graduate commencement ceremony Friday, May 9, in the Feldman Arena of the William A. O’Neill Athletic and Convocation Center on the university’s Westside campus in Danbury.

These graduates are from Fairfield County in the Daily Voice area of coverage. Graudates are from both January and May 2014.

Dr. John Murphy, president and chief executive officer of the Western Connecticut Health Network, delivered the commencement address to the graduate students.

Murphy is the first physician to serve Danbury Hospital as its president and chief executive officer. WestConn has recognized Murphy for his exemplary leadership and innovation in health-care administration as the recipient of the university’s 2011 Macricostas Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
