WestConn Closes Tuesday; Makeup Exams Set For Wednesday

DANBURY, Conn. -- Western Connecticut State University will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 17, and all classes are canceled, the Danbury school announced on its website. Essential personnel should report for work as usual.

A winter weather advisory was in place for all of Fairfield County from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday with 2 to 5 inches of snow expected to fall during the daytime. 

Makeup exams for those exams scheduled for Dec. 17 will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the same time and in the same room as the originally scheduled date.

Dining services will be available on both campuses from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. On Wednesday, dining services will be available from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the Midtown Campus and from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the Westside Campus.

The Campus Shuttle bus will not run on Tuesday but will keep its regular schedule on Wednesday. 

Faculty, staff and students are reminded to move their vehicles from all surface lots, including University Boulevard, during snowstorms to allow for snow removal. Failure to move vehicles from these areas may result in towing.
