Annual Half Marathon Steps Off In Danbury On Sunday

DANBURY, Conn. -- The 12th annual Greater Danbury Half Marathon steps off in the Hat City, then heads through Bethel and Redding, before returning to Danbury on Sunday, April 3.

The race begins at 9:15 a.m. at Rogers Park War Memorial in Danbury. The runners will pass through Bethel and Redding during the morning hours. 

The route in Redding is as follows: Route 53 south (from Bethel), Sidecut Road, West Redding Center and Simpaug Turnpike, Long Ridge Road and back into Danbury.

Sidecut Road and Simpauug Turnpike (between West Redding Center and Marchant Road) are subject to closure during the event. Drivers should seek alternate routes.

Aside from the Half Marathon, the event also features a 5K and a Kids Fun Run. 

There is a new flatter and faster half marathon course this year.

Following the event, enjoy a post-race party with food, refreshments, live music, awards ceremony and more.
