The Hatters were busy preparing for the upcoming season recently when the Daily Voice stopped by to chat with second-year Head Coach Bill Kersten.
"We made a lot of positive strides last year," said Kersten, whose Hatters went 5-11 and missed the playoffs in 2014.
"Now we're looking to move it to the next level," he said. "We have very simple goals - to qualify for the state tournament."
With programs such as Ridgefield, Wilton and New Canaan to contend with, Kersten knows his team will need to step it up.
"The competition is really good," the coach said. "A lot of our guys have been in the weight room, and we're seeing a lot of positive things. We're trying to be better today than we were yesterday."
Danbury is scheduled to open the 2015 season on Wednesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at Bunnell High School.
