In 2014, Fraticelli was named the Connecticut Coaches Association Indoor Track Assistant Coach of the Year.

In addition to Fraticelli’s award, six coaches at DHS, including Fraticelli, were recognized as “Coaches of Excellence” during the fall and winter seasons:

  • Rob Murray, boys cross country and boys indoor track
  • Sean Colley, boys soccer
  • Nick Fraticelli, girls indoor track
  • Ricky Shook, wrestling
  • Casey Bock, basketball
  • Joann Tatarzycki, cheerleading

Both the boys and girls indoor track teams won state titles in the LL Indoor Championships. The wrestling team, with its 18-0 record, won its 29th FCIAC title in 30 years. The boys basketball team placed first in the FCIAC Western Division after a 22-3 season.

Boys soccer finished first in FCIAC Western Division with an 11-2-3 record. The Hatters cheerleaders took third this year in the FCIAC championships and were runner-up in the state LL.

“These coaches are not only some of the very best in the FCIAC, they also are considered to be some of the best in Connecticut,” said DHS Athletic Director Chip Salvestrini. “We are very proud of the recognition they have received and fortunate to have as members of the DHS coaching community.”
