DANBURY, Conn. – Runners in Monday’s Memorial Day 5K in Danbury will start and finish at City Center while parade fans cheer them along the course.
The race begins at 8:45 a.m. Runners should finish well ahead of the parade, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. from the intersection of Main and Rose streets. The parade marches down Main Street and finishes at Rogers Park.
This year’s race proceeds will benefit The Building Homes for Heroes and the Danbury Downtown Council’s programming. Building Homes for Heroes provides individuals, corporations and others with an opportunity to help severely wounded and disabled veterans and their families rebuild their lives.
Building Homes for Heroes is committed to supporting those who have returned home from the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan with severe wounds and disabilities, with a goal to build homes for families in dire need.
Registration is $30, and race day registration begins at 7 a.m. More information is available online .
