Danbury's Hatcher Lands Starting Role For RPI Basketball

DANBURY, Conn. -- Brian Hatcher of Danbury is averaging 10.7 points per game as a starter for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men's basketball team.

Hatcher, a junior who graduated from Immaculate High School in Danbury, has started all games for RPI (5-13). He is second on the team in rebounds and assists and first in steals. He led RPI with 16 points in a 77-65 loss to Sage early in the season. He is averaging more than 33 minutes of playing time.

Hatcher comes fairly close to home on Feb. 20 when RPI visits Vassar in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Hatcher also played tennis at Immaculate. His father, Gerry, is a 1986 grad of RPI.
