Danbury's Immaculate Competes In Ciac Football Playoffs

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- High school football teams from around Fairfield County will go head-to-head in the 40th annual CIAC Football Playoffs, which kick off Tuesday evening.

Quarterfinals begin Tuesday, Dec. 1 with high seed teams hosting. Semifinals are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 7 with high seeds again hosting.

Finals are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 at Willow Brook Park in New Britain and Strong Stadium at West Haven High School.

The following is the schedule for Tuesday's quarterfinal games:

Class LL:

  • Shelton (10-0) vs West Haven (7-3), 7 p.m. at Shelton.
  • Newtown (9-1) vs Glastonbury (8-1), 6:30 p.m. at Newtown.
  • Darien (9-0) vs Staples (7-2), 6:30 p.m. at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk.
  • Southington (10-0) vs Conard (8-2), 6:30 p.m. at Southington.

Class L:

  • North Haven (10-0) vs Middletown (8-2), 6:30 p.m. at North Haven.
  • Torrington (9-1) vs Wethersfield (9-1), 6:30 p.m. at Torrington.
  • Harding (10-0) vs Notre Dame (8-2), 6:30 p.m. at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport.
  • Windsor (10-0) vs New Canaan (8-1), 6:30 p.m. at Windsor.

Class M:

  • Killingly (9-1) vs Stratford (7-3), 6:30 p.m. at Killingly
  • Abbott RVT/Immaculate (8-1) vs Brookfield (8-2), 6:30 p.m. at Western Conn. Stadium in Danbury.
  • New Fairfield (9-1) vs St. Joseph (7-2), 6:30 p.m. at New Fairfield.
  • Ledyard (9-1) vs Bacon Academy (8-2), 6:30 p.m. at Ledyard.

Class S:

  • Ansonia (10-0) vs Capital Prep/Achievement First (7-2), 6:30 p.m. at Jarvis Stadium in Ansonia.
  • Trinity Catholic (8-1) vs Morgan (10-1), 6 p.m. at Boyle Stadium in Stamford.
  • Bloomfield (10-0) vs East Catholic (8-2), 6:30 p.m. at Bloomfield.
  • Granby Memorial (10-0) vs Seymour (9-1), 6:30 p.m. at Granby.
