Fairfield Women's Basketball, With Danbury's Smith, Hosts School Day Game

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women’s basketball team will host the first-ever “School Day Game” on Friday, when the Stags play St. Peter's University at 11 a.m.

The game is presented by Stop and Shop and more than 1,000 elementary school students from around he area will create a unique atmosphere. All fans will receive free attendance to watch Fairfield, which upset Marist College on Wednesday night. 

The Stags and the Peacocks will be meeting for the 78th time in program history, with the Stags holding a 40-37 advantage. Fairfield has won the last eight in the series. In total, the Stags have won 16 of the last 18 games against the Peacocks since 2006.

Fairfield's team features Danbury native Casey Smith, a sophomore, who is averaging 12.8 points per game is a two-time Rookie of the Week honoree already this season by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
