Monroe Fire Department Names Firefighter Of The Year MONROE, Conn. – The Monroe Fire Department honored Kyle Matthews as its Firefighter of the Year earlier this month. Matthews was recognized for a 'willingness to help newer members, commitment to training, call response and participation in our station coverage program.' Putnam Man Charged After False Report Prompts Large Police Response PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – A Putnam Valley man was arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office after being accused of falsely reporting that armed intruders were at a friend's house on Hanover Road on Friday night, prompting a large police response. Stamford Drug Dealer Charged With Sexual Assault After Groping Informant STAMFORD, Conn. – A suspected drug dealer busted in a sting made the situation even worse by groping the police informant to prove she wasn't a police officer, the Stamford Advocate said. Philip Humphrey, 33, of Stamford was arrested Thursday after police set up a sting on Atlantic Street as word got out that he was selling crack, the Advocate said. Humphrey, who has been previously convicted of selling drugs, was charged with sale of narcotics and fourth-degree sexual assault, reported the Stamford Advocate.
