Freezing Rain Advisory Warns Of Icy Conditions Overnight In Danbury

NORTHERN FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Travel conditions could be dangerous overnight and into Saturday morning across Northern Fairfield County, according to the National Weather Service, which  has issued a freezing rain advisory.

The Freezing Rain Advisory in effect from 2 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14.

The advisory covers most of interior Connecticut, as well as northern Westchester and Putnam counties in New York.

Freezing rain could cause accumulations of a few hundredths to a tenth of an inch of ice.

Temperatures will be in the upper 20s to low 30s into Saturday morning.

A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to form after midnight and quickly change to freezing rain.

It will gradually change to plain rain by Saturday morning.

The freezing rain could cause dangerous travel conditions. Drivers should slow down and use caution.

Temperatures will climb above freezing during the day on Saturday, but rain will remain throughout the day. High temperatures will be about 43 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

Partly sunny skies will return on Sunday with a high in the mid-40s.

The work week will begin with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures of about 48 degrees.
