FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The sky will become increasingly cloudy across Fairfield County on Thursday ahead of a couple days of rain, with some flooding possible Thursday night.

The day will be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of precipitation on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Low pressure will bring increasing chances of rain from the west to the east through the afternoon and evening. The temperature will be a little below normal, with a high near 78.

Heavy rainfall could possibly hit the region Thursday night, which could lead to hazardous travel conditions and areas of flooding, mainly for urban and flood-prone regions. A thunderstorms is also possible Thursday night, which could produce heavy rainfall. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, and the low will be around 65.

Rain is expected to last into Friday morning, with showers and thunderstorms possible through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will still be a bit below normal, with a high of 79. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, with new rainfall amounts between three-quarters and one inch possible.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday night. There will be increasing clouds, with a low around 68 and a light southwest wind.
