It's A Steamy, Stormy Forecast For Saturday In Danbury

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The holiday weekend is getting off to a warm and humid start on Saturday, and it may soon get a lot wetter, according to the National Weather Service.

The threatening weather has already pushed Darien and Redding to push planned fireworks shows to Sunday, which should be a much nicer day.  

For Saturday, there is a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible, after 11 a.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

By the evening, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly before midnight, with more gusty winds and heavy rain. Temperatures will drop into the mid-60s. The chance of rain is 60 percent. 

It will be a lot brighter on Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 87. The dry conditions will bring slightly lower humidity. 

It will be clear and cool Sunday night, with a low around 66. 

By Monday, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms returns after 2 p.m. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 86. 

And don't fear a rainy Independence Day: The forecast now calls for a mostly sunny day, with a high near 83.
