Rain, Fog Expected To Begin Moving Into Danbury

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Rain is headed to Fairfield County Tuesday, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents can expect precipitation amounts from between a tenth and a quarter of an inch and temperature highs near 46 degrees.

The rain is going nowhere Tuesday night, and will continue until around 1 a.m., when drizzle or light rain will likely occur through the overnight hours. Patchy fog is anticipated overnight with low temperatures around 52 degrees.

East winds will be between 5 and 7 miles per hour, then becoming light and variable after midnight. The chance of precipitation overnight is 90 percent, with the possibility of new precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.

Showers will not be leaving the area Wednesday when patchy morning fog before 10 a.m. is expected and the chance of precipitation is 90 percent, the National Weather Service reported.

There will be high temperatures near 50 degrees. There is a possibility of light south wind and the day’s rain may produce additional precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.

The showers will continue into Wednesday night, mainly before 9 p.m. Temperatures may dip as low as 40 degrees. Low southeast winds before midnight are possible from 6 to 10 miles per hour, becoming west after midnight. Further precipitation is 80 percent likely. Expect additional precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.

The rain will not move out Thursday, as a slight chance of showers will still be possible before 1 p.m. However the afternoon may brighten with the sun expected to make an appearance. The remainder of the day is expected to be mostly sunny. Temperature highs will be near 47 degrees. There will likely be a northwest wind between 13 and 17 miles per hour and Thursday’s precipitation amounts could be 20 percent.

Finally Friday will be sunny, with a high temperature near 46 degrees.

The weekend continues to look bright, with Saturday expected to be sunny, with a high temperature near 45 degrees.

While the temperature will dip to the freezing point, around 32 degrees overnight Sunday will be sunny again, with temperatures nearing 48 degrees.
