Friday and Saturday will see periods of a wintry mix of rain, sleet and some wet snow, according to the National Weather Service. Little accumulation is expected in most places, but elevations above 750 to 1,000 feet could experience a slushy inch or so of sleet and wet snow, with up to a quarter-inch of ice accumulation.
The weather Friday afternoon will be almost all rain, with a high near 37. Wind chill values will be between 25 and 30, and wind gusts could be as high as 24 mph.
Heavy rainfall may result in areas of urban and poor drainage flooding Friday night, with a few spots of moderate roadway flooding that may necessitate road closures. Sleet will return into the mix Friday night, before turning back to all rain after 3 a.m. The rain and sleet could be heavy at times. The low will be around 34, with wind chill values between 20 and 25. It will be breezy, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
Rain will continue into Saturday, mostly in the morning. It will still be cold though, with a high near 40 and wind chill values between 25 and 30. Gusts could be as high as 30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Saturday night will be cloudy, with a low around 32.
The area will see a break in the gloomy weather on Sunday, which is expected to be sunny with a high near 53. Sunday night will be clear, with a low around 34.
