FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- There is a possibility of black ice and slippery conditions in Fairfield County as a result of melting snow that could refreeze Monday morning.

Monday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 40 and wind chill values between 25 and 35, according to the National Weather Service. Clouds will increase Monday night, and temperatures will drop to a low around 28.

There is a 40 percent chance of snow after 3 a.m., which could turn into a mix of rain and snow before 9 a.m. Temperatures will rise on Tuesday to a high near 43, turning all wintry precipitation into rain before ending during the afternoon. There is a slight chance of more rain and snow during the night. Less than a half inch of snow accumulation is expected.

Much colder air will move in Tuesday night behind a series of cold fronts. The Low on Tuesday night will be around 19, with wind chill values between 5 and 15. 

The coldest air of the season so far will arrive by Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be partly sunny and see a high of 28. It will be breezy, with a west wind of 13 to 21 mph, and gusts as high as 31 mph. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 28. It will be mostly cloudy on Thursday night, when the low will be around 18.

There is a 40 percent chance of snow showers after noon on Friday. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Friday night will see a 30 percent chance of snow showers before midnight, but will otherwise be mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.
