You personalized messages and poetry can be published on dark, milk and white chocolate, and Golden Dark - the confection is sprinkled with golden dust and looks more like a plaque than a plate of chocolate, Michael Sauvageau told Daily Voice.

He and wife Jennifer Sauvageau founded the company at Danbury Innovations Center. Then last year, running a successful fundraiser on Kickstarter were able to open their own production facility in town.

"You get to say what you want to somebody in a really delicious way,"  Michael said, telling how the company makes greeting cards and other personalized messages using laser technology.

Custom books, messages, and art on chocolate can also be ordered by walking in to the business.

"If they don't want to eat them right away we include a piece of chocolate with the order and put the message also on paper for a keepsake for when they eat it," said Michael.

The Sauvageaus previously owned a lawn care business, toy business, and traveled around the country performing and teaching at Renaissance fairs.
