In honor of its 350th store opening, Whole Foods will give the first 350 customers a free pound of raw and peeled shrimp and a free pound of fresh boneless chicken breast.
If your're interested in that free gift, regional Whole Foods press officer Michael Sinatra says to get to the store early. Sometimes, he said, there is a line to get in before the opening.
As a part of the opening, the store's Whole Body section will offer an early bird special with savings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"We're excited to join the Danbury community and fulfill the needs of its shoppers with natural, organic and wholesome products," Pat Mulrooney, the Whole Foods Market Danbury store team leader, said in a statement. "With it's rich agricultural history, Danbury was a natural fit for Whole Foods Market."
The store is also donating 5 percent of the day's proceeds to the Danbury Historical Society.
The store will be featuring several unique aspects, including the Burger and Shake bar, which is an homage to the Burger Bar that had been at the location when it was Marcus Dairy.
