NORWALK, Conn.-- Be happy with what you're doing and grow at your own pace.

Such is the philosophy of Norwalk-based Whipped Up Creations , a mother/daughter owned company known for its Unbakeables cookie dough bites.

Corey Tolkin, a Weston resident, runs the six-year-old company with her mom, Julie, also of Weston. The two believe balance is key to success. And so far, their gradual success seems to be working.

Unbakeables are basically an egg-free creation for those who love cookie dough. The company's origins hark back to a time when Julie, a longtime preschool teacher at the Westport/Weston Co-op, would make cookies --  and watch her kids lick the bowl.

Wanting to figure out a safer way for youngsters to indulge in the dough, she tweaked a chocolate chip cookie recipe, which she later perfected into cookie dough balls.

There are now eight Unbakeables flavors; most popular are Original (chocolate chip dough topped with chocolate peanut butter) and Salty Sweet (chocolate chip dough topped with dark chocolate pretzel)

Coming out soon: Morning Dough (mocha chocolate chunk dough topped with dark chocolate). There is also a holiday flavor called Ginger Bells (Ginger snap cookie topped with white chocolate).

The company, which is distributed at area farmer's markets as well as local stores such as Peter's in Weston, Palmer's in Darien and Walter Stewart's in New Canaan, as well in Whole Foods, is working on expanding its distribution.

Look for them in markets in Rowayton and New Canaan on select Sundays. Go to for more information.
