Blues Legend Brings Jam To Bethel Pizzeria

BETHEL, Conn. — A legendary blues man from New Haven who once toured with Marvin Gaye is performing Sunday night in Bethel.

Blues man George Baker will perform Sunday, March 19 at Pizzeria Lauretano in Bethel.

Guitarist George Baker grew up in Louisiana then moved to New York and toured as musical director with Gaye for three years. 

He played with Melba Moore, The Drifters, and the Shirelles, and other well-known musicians at the Apollo Theater as a member of the House Band.

Baker's longtime bassist Willie Joe Moore will perform with him at the Italian restaurant.

The show begins at 6 p.m. at Pizzeria Lauretano, 291 Greenwood Ave.

There will be a music charge of $15 and $10 food or drink minimum.
