DANBURY, Conn. -- With a tip o’ the cap to St. Patrick’s Day, the Danbury Library is hosting an afternoon of Irish song favorites from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, featuring the talents of Danbury’s own Irish music duo, Two Lads, Bob Carlsen and Kevin Moore.
The performance features songs familiar for all to sing along with and several, slightly lesser-known songs, all arranged to provide audience members with a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and a bit of story behind the long tradition and evolution of Irish music.
As Moore said about their show, between a wink and a smile: “Take care while you’re singin’ along with us, or you might just end up learning an interesting thing or two in the process.”
By day, Carlsen is senior legal counsel at Connecticut-based Accenture, and Moore is a public relations and corporate communications professional from Danbury.
Carlsen plays several instruments and has performed in area bands throughout the years, most notably local favorite The Merry Ploughboys, which he helped form in the early 2000s.
Primarily a tenor vocalist, Moore has performed in venues and Irish pubs from Connecticut to Florida, most notably a 2015 St. Patrick’s Day performance with nationally known pianist Dan Ruskin in Washington D.C.
The Two Lads will be performing in the Danbury Library’s community room in the library’s basement.
