DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury Music Centre will welcome two extraordinary instruments -- a harp and a piano -- into its collection with a recital by world-class musicians at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $25 for ages 13 and older, and $10 for children 12 and younger. Refreshments are included, and proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the upkeep of the instruments.

The recital will take place in the Marian Anderson Recital Hall, which is on the second floor of the Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main St.

The recital features pianists Will Duchon, Robert Fleitz, Ben Laude, Margarita Nuller and Maxim Vladimiroff, as well as harpist Lily Press.

They will perform a wide variety of music, including works by J.S. Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, Glass and Danbury native Paul Frucht.

In fall 2014, Danbury resident Patricia Kendziorski donated her harp to Danbury Music Centre. Kendziorski, formerly employed as a scientist at NASA, described many wonderful years of playing harp with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra.

She still teaches beginning and intermediate harp students out of her home but found that she was not able to use the full-size harp any longer and offered it to Danbury Music Centre.

Last May, former Western Connecticut State University piano professor and WMNR fine arts radio broadcaster Joanne F. Moryl of Southbury passed away, leaving her Steinway B piano to Danbury Music Centre in her will.

Tickets are available for purchase at Danbury Music Centre or online at danburymusiccentre.org .
