Danbury Offers Citizens Government Academy

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury residents are once again invited to participate in Mayor Mark Boughton’s Citizens Government Academy.

The academy, started in 2012, gives residents the chance to learn the inside workings of various city departments during a seven-week course. Sessions will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 7 through Oct. 19. The first session will be in the City Hall's council chambers on the thirrd floor. 

Scheduled trips include visits to the police station, fire department and public works. 

Applications are available in the mayor’s office or on the city's website. Applications can either be delivered in person, faxed to 203-796-1666 or e-mailed to Austin Samuelson at a.samuelson@danbury-ct.gov.
