DANBURY, Conn. -- Get ready to deck the halls this holiday season when Danbury's own Musicals At Richter, Connecticut’s longest-running outdoor theater, comes inside to The Palace Danbury with an enchanting version of “Scrooge: The Musical."

The performances will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19; at 3 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20; and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21.

Only reserved seating is available. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.

The Palace Danbury is located at 165 Main St. in downtown Danbury.

“Scrooge: The Musical" closely follows the plot of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." The miserly Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes a profound redemption and learns the true meaning of Christmas during the course of a Christmas Eve night. Scrooge is visited by the doomed ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who, covered in chains, explains to Scrooge that eternal suffering is directly related to greed and bad behavior while on Earth.

Marley warns Scrooge that unless he changes his ways he, too, will suffer the same fate. Marley tells Scrooge three spirits will visit him that night. The first one is the Spirit of Christmas Past. The second is the Spirit of Christmas Present. The final one is the Spirit of Christmas Yet-To-Come. Through reflection and revelation, Scrooge wakes up on Christmas Day a changed man.

Enjoy the well known songs, including "Father Christmas," "I Like Life," "December the Twenty-Fifth" and "Thank You Very Much" as you relive this classic come to life.

This beautifully staged production features elegant period costumes, inspiring live music and a cast of your favorite local talent. It's a must see for the whole family this holiday season. Let the spirit of Christmas inspire you and join Musicals At Richter at The Palace Danbury Theatre for a truly magical experience.

Tickets may be purchased online at , by phone at 203-794-9944 from 1 to 5 p.m. daily, or at the box office starting one hour before curtain.

"Scrooge!" is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc. The book, music and lyrics are by Leslie Bricusse and the play is based on the 1970s movie starring Albert Finney. It is directed and staged by Donald E. Birely with musical direction by Dan Koch. Playing the character Tiny Tim is Mahopac, N.Y., resident Christopher Basulto.
