Rehearsals Begin For Danbury Music Centre's 'Messiah' Performance

DANBURY, Conn. -- Area singers are invited to join the first chorus rehearsal for the Danbury Music Centre’s annual performance of Handel’s "Messiah."

The rehearsal is set for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main St. 

The performance will be at First Congregational Church on the corner of Deer Hill Avenue and West Street on Friday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. 

Most rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesdays from 7:30 to 10 p.m., and are at the Danbury Music Centre. A more detailed schedule is available upon request. 

All area singers are invited to participate, provided they are able to attend the dress rehearsal plus at least four of the five prior rehearsals. Participation is free to financially contributing members of the Danbury Music Centre. There is a $25 charge for all other singers. Pre-registration is requested. 

Christine R. Howlett, music director of the Danbury Concert Chorus, will direct the Danbury Concert Chorus and members of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra. Joining the chorus and orchestra are soloists Regina Krawiec, soprano; Drew Minter, countertenor; James Ruff, tenor; and Paul Speiser, bass. 

Singers may borrow "Messiah" music from the Danbury Music Centre or use their own vocal score. Music will be loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.
